Easy way to cook dinuguan (pork blood stew)

https://youtu.be/bv8VGBWj4cU?si=QkWunWiOyAMVZbWq Dinuguan is a Filipino dish that is made from pork blood, pork meat, and vinegar. It is also known as pork blood stew or chocolate meat. Dinuguan is usually served with rice or puto, a type of steamed rice cake. Dinuguan has a rich and savory flavor, with a hint of sourness from the vinegar. It is a popular dish for special occasions and family gatherings.
Some people may be hesitant to try dinuguan because of its appearance or ingredients, but it is actually a very nutritious and delicious dish. Pork blood is a good source of iron, protein, and vitamin B12, while pork meat provides zinc, selenium, and phosphorus. Vinegar helps to tenderize the meat and also adds antimicrobial properties to the dish. Dinuguan is also low in carbohydrates and high in protein, making it a good choice for people who are watching their blood sugar levels.
Dinuguan is easy to prepare and cook at home. You will need about 1 kilogram of pork meat, preferably with some fat and skin, 500 milliliters of fresh pork blood, 250 milliliters of vinegar, 4 cloves of garlic, 1 onion, 3 bay leaves, 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, salt, pepper, and sugar to taste. You can also add some green chili peppers if you like it spicy.
To make dinuguan, follow these simple steps:
1. Cut the pork meat into bite-sized pieces and wash them well. Drain the excess water and set aside.
2. Peel and chop the garlic and onion. Set aside.
3. In a large pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Saute the garlic and onion until soft and fragrant.
4. Add the pork meat and bay leaves and stir-fry for about 15 minutes or until browned.
5. Pour the vinegar and bring to a boil. Do not stir until the vinegar has evaporated.
6. Add the pork blood and stir well. Lower the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
7. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar to your liking. You can also add some green chili peppers at this point if you want some heat.
8. Serve hot with rice or puto and enjoy your dinuguan!
Dinuguan is a traditional Filipino dish that showcases the creativity and resourcefulness of Filipino cuisine. It is a dish that can be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates bold flavors and adventurous eating. Try it today and discover why it is one of the most loved dishes in the Philippines. -
